The only downside to this type of flooring is that you have to be very careful when cleaning it. Laminate flooring planks consist of layers of fiber and wood, and then the surface of the floor has been sealed with a protective coating. It is this coating that gives the floor its attractive shine. When you use a regular cleaner on the floor, you could damage the protective sealer. Any cleaning solution with ammonia or soap as an ingredient will leave marks on the surface of the floor and could cause the floor to dull.

Dip your mop into the mixture, wring out any excess water, and mop your laminate floor. Allow to air dry and walk on it when dry.
