A couple of days ago, my girlfriend and I were at an amusement park. When we came across this stall that she was selling pancakes, my girlfriend dragged me there and she demanded that she buy her one. So I placed my order and waited. While I was waiting, I thought it would be cool to see how these pancakes are made. But I regretted watching him cook, because what I saw left me completely disgusted.

Let me start by giving you an overview of how you made the pancake. She fried it in a lot of oil. He also literally covered the pancake in butter (which is nothing more than clumps of unhealthy trans fat). Also, the amount of syrup she used was quite high. And this is the kind of syrup that is really sweet and has the potential to cause problems like diabetes and cavities.

Naturally, all of this blew us away. And I had to convince my girlfriend that pancakes are extremely unhealthy. But all this also made me think. What if there was a way to make pancakes much healthier? After all, pancakes are among America’s favorite snacks, right? But why not make it healthy at the same time? So I did some research and this is what I came up with.

To make much healthier pancakes, you can start by not using as much oil and butter. The problem with oil and butter is that they are high in trans fat. And trans fats have the potential to cause problems like coronary heart disease because they clog arteries. Recent studies have also shown that trans fats can help cause Alzheimer’s disease. Scary right?

Moving on from all the health risks of oil and butter; the fact that sweet syrups are used in the preparation of pancakes is another problem. Like I said earlier, the high amount of sugar in these syrups can cause problems like diabetes and cavities. Well, to counter this, you can use raspberry sauce instead. Just avoid using the sauce if you are allergic to it. Now, to make really good pancakes, top them with fresh fruit, like strawberries and mangoes.

Here, I have just shown you a way that you can make healthier pancakes. You don’t have to go to the extreme of not eating them at all. Now I’m going to make this for my girlfriend to make up for not buying her a pancake at the fair.
