No matter what kind of sports, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf, basketball and other strength, each and every famous and successful sports athlete speaks of “mental strength.” For example, it is not easy to focus and concentrate on golf shooting when everyone is watching. It would be even more difficult if the golfer has some personal, family or legal problems. To win and be successful in sports, an athlete must have a very strong and stable mind that is not affected by any external influences or instability of his mind.

In the case of martial arts, such as Karate, Judo, Kendo, Kung-Fu, maintaining that strength and mental stability is the most important factor, since winning or losing is a matter of life and death. I practiced some martial arts and I personally know how important it is. The 70-80% of winning or losing is not decided by skill level, but rather by the stability one could keep in mind. Therefore, it is very important to train your mind in martial arts to become a master of arts to the extent that one is unbeatable and trustworthy to teach and lead his successors.

I’ve long wondered why people don’t talk much about mental toughness and stability in business. It was 12 years ago that I spun off a company that I worked for for 20 years and started my own business. There were many business and personal problems in immigration, divorces, failures, cheating, business lies, lack of capital, insufficient money to invest, etc. I can fill at least one page of my notebook with the problems I had. Perhaps it is a question of the daily life of the employed people who work in a company. That may be why they don’t talk much about mental strength. But what I found in my own business test was the opposite. Business is like a fight in which life is played in martial art using real swords that can cut with precision. If you do not have the strength of your mentality, the methodology to review your mental state, the attitude of constantly fighting and overcoming problems, the awareness in the endless effort to train your mind, sooner or later you will be defeated by a cold life reality. and iron, depressed, disappointed, loses interest and confidence, and gives up. Quitting means you quit your business and shut it down. End of the test.

It seems to me that the lack of this kind of mental toughness awareness is the very cause of the tragic fact that less than 5% of entrepreneurs are successful in their own business. It is not your competition that you must fight. It is YOU yourself that you need to fight and win the successful mindset.

If you can acquire your mental strength to be able to fight each and every problem you will encounter and maintain that strength, you have more than half the way through the road. It is your mental strength that will lead you to be successful in your business, or in anything you want to be successful, such as life, family relationship, friendship, social relationship. It is not the knowledge, the techniques, or your connections with VIPs that are essential to your success.

Instead, even if you have all the important business factors listed above, if you don’t have the mental strength, these factors are like a building built on a sandy beach. They will fall as you lose your mental strength. Continuous mental training is the only way to acquire and maintain mental strength. Mental training is not for people with weakness or psychological problems. It is for you and me.
