Environmentalists believe in the adage: you reap what you sow. In the modern environment, people are experiencing the dangers brought about by the lack of concern for the environment. Humanity’s habitat is becoming dirtier and more insecure. This is the fact that prompted several car manufacturers to support green engines.

Ford Motor Co. is one of the big names in the effort to create a cleaner and safer environment. Ford engines are getting so much buzz and appreciation both in the automotive world and in the environmental sector. The automaker continues its research and studies to discover fuel efficient, safe, clean and economical engines. Other automakers and associations are also participating in the effort by publishing information of sentimental concern and using the latest engine discoveries that do not contribute to the destruction of the Earth.

Rich Moskowitz, Regulatory Affairs Advisor for the American Trucking Associations, said, “We have made a public policy decision to spend additional money to provide cleaner air. That will translate into a higher cost to transport freight…Ultimately Ultimately, the public will pay for this clean air benefit.

Today, truck manufacturers are gearing up for fuel economy. The latest fuel technology has a sulfur content of no more than 15 parts per million to meet new Environmental Protection Agency standards. In fact, the “ultra-low sulfur” diesel will be available next October. To further support the effort, truck manufacturers are now making upgraded diesel engines and emission control systems designed to keep the fuel fresh. However, these trucks will cost a bit more than conventional trucks.

“It’s a systems approach,” said John Millett, a spokesman for the US Environmental Protection Agency. “We had to consider the two together. Just requiring a cleaner fuel without a cleaner engine, or vice versa, wouldn’t get the reductions that we are looking for,” he added.

Summary:

Global warming, the thinning of the ozone layer, the greenhouse effect along with its harmful effects on health make the population feel apprehensive and terrified of things to come. This is why environmentalists and other cause-oriented people are promoting different methods to reduce the causes and effects of these hazards and one of the ways is to choose improved engines.
