You have a website, but no traffic and as I’m sure you know: “no traffic = no list = no sales”.

How do you get traffic to your website?

Well, you can buy it. That is, you can buy advertising. After all, you can’t be an expert at everything, but let’s say you don’t have a budget, or you’re on a low budget, or maybe you just prefer to start getting “free traffic”. it will take you a lot of time, work and sweat!

  • SEO: “Search Engine Optimization”.

If your website or blog isn’t “Search Engine Optimized,” don’t expect it to be found. Of course, there are still other ways to “find” it, but everything helps. For example, in addition to the title, description, etc., you need to make sure that you are using keywords that are related to your site and its content. as well as the terms that some will search for.

  • Search engines:

The first task after optimizing your website or blog is to submit it to search engines. There are multiple ways to do this, along with a lot of views too, so I won’t go into that, but suffice to say, you need to submit to the big 3: Google, Bing, and Yahoo. At least to begin with, anyway.

  • Directories or indexes:

Your third task will be to submit your website to various directories or indexes. You can do this by hand, but there are hundreds, so you’d better do a search for “Directory Submitter,” then download one that sounds good to you or has good recommendations.

  • Self-hosted Word Press blog:

Were you surprised that he suddenly changed the subject and brought up something new?

A blog is an absolute necessity now and while you get away with it for a while using a hosted Word press and/or Blogger blog, remember that it’s not yours and they can delete it at any time. Call it “The Google Slap”, or whatever you like, but they own it, so they can turn it off at any time.

Not only that, it doesn’t look professional and the name of the game to get traffic is “Branding-The Power Of You-Step#1 Your Own Website”.

You can get one anywhere, but you’ll find my top recommendations on my website and blog. Tip: Having all your domains, websites, tools, and other perks centralized in one place, from which you can generate affiliate commissions, is very helpful.

You can add SEO and other plugins to your blog, plus since search engines love websites and blogs, as you constantly create content and your traffic increases, you will quickly climb the search engine ladders.

Don’t forget, in addition to pinging your blog, to send the RSS feed to Feedagg. com and other places.

  • Web 2.0:

Sites like HubPages, Squidoo, and YouTube (among others) rank high in search engines and get a lot of traffic, so having an article with text, photos, videos, and other features from those sites as well as “networks” should bring you even more traffic.

  • Social media:

This is the big Kahuna, so don’t miss it!
Facebook, Twitter and MySpace can bring you a lot of traffic, if done right. You can get kicked out if you do it wrong, so “follow the rules!”

  • Social Bookmarks:

You will often see it on many news sites, blogs, etc. buttons to share the articles with other Facebook users, “tweet” them and also bookmark them on, for example, Del.Icio.us, Digg, StumpleUpon and technorati, just to name a few. This is another traffic controller. You never know who might be looking for your website, blog, or product(s).

  • One-way backlinks:

He/She with the most backlinks wins”, well, sort of. The more backlinks you have, the more important your site will appear in the search engines!

  • Marketing of articles:

Visit an article site daily and write a keyword rich article and pretty soon you will have 365 articles all pointing to your website and/or blog.

  • Classified Ads:

Get all the classified ads you can every day. I’ve heard from several major internet marketers that the way they do it is to do up to 50 classifieds a day, so take that as “top tip”!

There you go!

There are many more, but I had to stop at ten. Maybe at some point I’ll write a second article detailing 10 more traffic secrets, but the above will get you started.
