In January 2011, Forbes magazine listed the wealthiest neighborhood in the US through its article “America’s Most Prosperous Neighborhoods.” Below, you’ll see the top three list of the richest neighborhood in America.

Town of Westlake, Texas.

Topping the list is the city of Westlake in the state of Texas. This Dallas suburb is home to 703 residents and some of America’s most influential people, including Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers; Chuck Greenberg, the owner of the rangers; Vernon Wells, the center fielder for the Toronto Blue Jays; Matthew Rose, CEO of Burlington Northern Santa Fe; and Mark Teixeira of the New York Yankees. The Westlake neighborhood has an exclusive top-of-the-line golf course designed by Tom Fazio. It is also home to some of the world’s best-known golfers, including Todd Hamilton and KJ Choi. Town of Westlake residents have an estimated median annual income of $250,000.

Town of Kenilworth, Illinois.

Considered the most exclusive neighborhood in the Midwest, the Village of Kenilworth in the state of Chicago has an estimated median annual income of $247,000. The median home price in Kenilworth is around $1 million.

Mission Hills, KS.

Home to Kansas City royalty, Mission Hills in the state of Kansas was ranked third among the most affluent neighborhoods in the US It has an estimated median annual income of $243,000. It’s also where Kansas City’s wealthiest resident lives: George Brett.

Forbes magazine considered the median median household income of residents to determine the most affluent neighborhood in America. The neighborhoods that made it to the list have a population of no more than 64,999.
