New York City is one of the most populated areas to visit. There are about eight million people in the New York City area alone. This makes the city the largest in the United States. New York City has been the largest city since around 1790 when the first census report was made. New York City has many different nicknames such as The Big Apple, The City That Never Sleeps, and Gotham are just a few of these names. This is the perfect city to have a vacation full of excitement and non-stop activities.

The Statue of Liberty is a very popular attraction to visit. Ellis Island is the home of Lady Liberty. There are certain restrictions that have been in place since the 9/11 attacks, but there are still daily tours of the island. Visiting the statue is very interesting for children who are on their first visit to New York. The Statue of Liberty is about 305 feet tall. The French gave the Statue of Liberty to the United States to commemorate the friendship between the two countries.

The Empire State Building is also a must-see attraction when in New York City. The view from the roof is unique. The Empire State Building has more than three million people who visit it each year. The building is 1,453 feet tall and this includes the lightning rod on top.

Central Park and Time Square are going to be two things that cannot be missed on vacation. Central Park sits right in the center of the city. It is like an oasis in the desert. This is the only place you’ll find non-potted trees, grass, and flowers in the entire city. Time Square is amazing at night. All the lights and fast-paced foot traffic will give you the New York City lifestyle we all see in the movies.

There are many more attractions in New York such as Madison Square Gardens, Broadway shows, the Metropolitan Museum and so many great restaurants to eat at. The food in the city is some of the best in the United States. There are so many to choose from that it can be difficult to fit them all into your vacation. New York City will leave you with an experience you will never forget.
