Isuzu is the world’s largest commercial truck manufacturer. It is well known for its medium to heavy trucks and diesel engines. Most of the 16 million diesel engines are developed specifically for all types of commercial vehicles. Amid poor sales in the United States, Isuzu has ceased production of cars and SUVs, but remains highly profitable in the production of full-size cars and trucks. Its commercial line of heavy vehicles includes light, medium and heavy chassis trucks, as well as a growing number of buses. Elf, Forward and Giga are three different types of Isuzu trucks. In the United States, H-series heavy-duty commercial trucks are produced exclusively for North American markets.
elf type
Isuzu Elf is an N-series light truck that uses an Aisin AW450-43LE gasoline engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. A more powerful 5- or 6-speed manual transmission is also available. These new models are elegant and functional. Isuzu Elf models are primarily in operation in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
forwarding type
Medium duty trucks, Forward, are also known by the F-series in other countries. These come in a deck cab design and are 2 or 4 wheel drive. One of the distinctive features of these trucks is their rapid assembly. They can be assembled off-site in just two days. In fact, this type of unusual assembly is regularly held in Chile and some other South American countries. Depending on the market, Forward Series trucks are offered with manual, semi-automatic and automatic transmissions. These trucks are manufactured primarily for the Japanese and Australian markets. In Australia, a large number of Isuzu F-series trucks are custom built for law enforcement, fire departments and medical units.
GigaType
The largest of these trucks are Giga, which can also be recognized as C or E class. This is the most popular model and is widely implemented in many countries. Giga models are tailored for practical use and may not contain as many amenities as the competition offers.
Type H
In collaboration with General Motors, Isuzu has also developed a distinct brand of commercial trucks, the H-series. In the United States, these are primarily known as the Chevrolet Kodiak. These medium duty trucks are also sold in Colombia and Mexico. Third-generation H-type trucks use powerful 6.6L V8 diesel or 7.8L I6 diesel engines that are equipped with 5-, 6-, 9-, or 10-speed manual transmissions. Automatic transmission is also available. The newest version of the US presidential state car also derives its specifications from the Isuzu-inspired GMC topkick chassis.
