Grenada is commonly known as the Spice Island in the Caribbean, and it certainly packs a lot of spice when it comes to offering some enticing and exciting activities for your vacation. Whichever Granada hotel you choose to stay at, you won’t be too far from some of these enchanting destinations.

Go bird watching at La Sagesse Nature Center

Some areas of the island are particularly good for bird watching, and this is one of the best. The nature center is situated on an estuary and the highlight is a salt pond that attracts a wide range of birds of all kinds. When you have had enough of bird watching, you can spend some time on one of the beaches that are also part of the center.

Relax on Grand Anse Beach in St George

You can’t visit the Caribbean and stay in your choice of hotels in Grenada and not visit Grand Anse Beach in St George. This is one of the most popular areas that tourists choose to stay, and the beach is said to be one of the best the world has to offer. The sands stretch for nearly two miles, providing plenty of places to spend the day with a beach towel.

Visit the Annandale Falls and swim below them

Although there are several waterfalls that you can visit [none of which are too difficult to reach for people departing their Grenada hotels for a day out], Annandale Falls are surely among the best. These falls are ideal if you don’t want to do a long hike. A nice walk will be enough to reach the foot of the falls, and then you can jump into the water and enjoy a refreshing swim near where they splash in the water. Don’t miss the vegetation that hangs over the water from above, or the observation deck that gives you a great photo opportunity.

Visit the River Antoine Rum Distillery

The history here goes back over two hundred years, although it is said that distillation may have happened here even earlier. It is quite fascinating to see the different stages of the distillation process, especially if you have been on more modern distillery tours before. Many things here are done purely by hand, resulting in a rum that is 70% proof and quite amazing to taste. The workers here produce their rum the same way others did before them, centuries ago.

Just as there are many Grenada hotels to choose from, there are also many attractions to choose from on a daily basis when visiting this enticing island. While you’ll want to explore some of the Caribbean beaches the island has to offer, there are also plenty of other enticing attractions to see, all of which make the island irresistible to visit.
