First of all, since I always like to pay special attention to beginners, I would like to explain exactly what dofollow social bookmarking sites are. Social bookmarking sites, to prevent spam submissions, often add nofollows, which are basically an instruction to the Google bot telling it not to pay attention to the link on your site to yours. Therefore, the link does not improve the PageRank of your site, which is one of the most important factors, if not the most important, in getting the first places in Google.
Are these links useless then? The answer is no. They’re still useful if you want traffic, publicity for your site, and reader interest, among other things. However, there are dofollow social bookmarking sites. At the moment, we are talking about smaller websites, not the most famous ones, but the presentation is useful. It won’t replace a quality SEO and social media marketing strategy, but it can be an interesting part of it.
Here is a very comprehensive list of some dofollow social bookmarking sites that I have put together. You may find more spam than usual here, and remember that these sites tend to come and go quickly; you may have to go through the list and recheck it from time to time, but they are still a valid option:

So how do we discover nofollow links anyway? Although I am usually a Google Chrome user, for this I recommend using the Mozilla Firefox browser, since it allows you to install what are called add-ons. If you search for ‘firefox nofollow add-on’, you can install a number of programs that mark nofollow links with red highlights, a very useful trick for any webmaster. Whenever you enter a website that is marked in red, you know that the links placed there are not useful for SEO purposes. On the other hand, if there is no red highlight, you are good to go.
Other good ways to get dofollow links is to submit the work you write to certain PR (or press release) sites. While the traffic on these isn’t generally huge, the dofollow links are valuable: same situation as with the dofollow social bookmarking sites we listed earlier… These PR sites don’t value quality content that much, so It’s okay to submit less informative or newsworthy items, like announcements about your company, which, let’s face it, might be a little less interesting to the general public.
