In this article, I’m going to cover a very important topic that could lead to higher conversions in a product review, that is, turn the features you are writing about into a list of benefits. You will learn, for example, how to do it in this article.

So many reviews that I read I forget to mention any type of benefit of a certain characteristic. Don’t make that mistake! Very often, a customer will buy a product because of one of the listed benefits. Think about how many times you have bought a product because you really like that benefit. If they missed it, they may not have decided to make the purchase.

A benefit is a great sales pitch, so how do you list the benefits of a feature? Let’s see an example, the screen resolution of a smartphone is a very important feature of that phone and many people buy based on the HD display, but what is the benefit of having HD display?

I can think of three benefits:

1. Better experience when watching movies and videos.
2. Your gaming experience will be enhanced with sharp graphics.
3. The photos you take will be crystal clear.

The general benefit of HD resolution on your smartphone is an “improved viewing experience”.

What do you need to do:

List all the benefits you can think of associated with a certain role. If you get stuck, you can use Google to help you by typing in the search bar “What are the benefits of having HD resolution on the Galaxy S6”? the last part to something that is relevant to your product. Read the results shown and take lots of notes.

After you’ve listed the benefits of the feature, think of an overall benefit to summarize the other benefits listed. Like the example I gave you earlier, the overall benefit is an improved viewing experience. An easy way to do this is to look at the list of benefits you have written and see if there are any common components that share the same overall benefit, for example from above the common component was an enhanced viewing experience with HD resolution.

Remember that benefits often help the reader make an informed buying decision, so make that list because it could be the difference between making the sale or not.
