This may surprise many, but not all women are women. Many of you may not agree with this statement. However, I would like to invite you to continue reading with an open mind. For those of you who are thinking, there is no difference between a woman or a lady, I ask that you seriously consider my observations.

Do you remember the term “Elegant? “That is a phrase that we no longer hear often when we refer to a woman. Believe me, I am in favor Women rights. I believe that women deserve the same rights in many ways, however I am not willing to negotiate for being referred or being treated Like a lady, ” In return.

Men demand respect, and rightly so, but don’t women also deserve respect? When I refer to a woman as a lady, I mean a woman who behaves in a courteous and kind manner. Age, race, or size don’t matter in this case. When I say the word “lady”, I do not mean a woman who is loud, rude or insulting. If what she’s wearing draws more attention than who she is on the inside, I’m not talking about her. At the other extreme, I do not mean a woman who walks with a neckline down to her chin, speaks with a little mouse voice, and is shy.

I admit there is women they don’t act like a lady. They also don’t sound like the epitome of elegance. Thesis women do not dress modestly and do not consciously strive to be elegant. Unfortunately women that portray wild behavior are getting a lot of exposure in the media. Their behavior spreads like a contagious disease. I am compelled to make it known publicly that I strongly disapprove of their behavior. Noisy, poorly dressed, and overly made-up women are not role models for tweens, young teens women, or any woman. Hot tempers, profane language, false nails, hair, eyelashes, body parts, and cosmetic procedures are not a representation of all woman.

Sadly, I don’t think they realize that they are being exploited. When society tires of being made fun of themselves, they may simply turn their attention elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wish them any harm.

I won’t waste a lot of words on these characters, and the fact that they are a distraction from reality, for the masses. Events taking place in our communities receive little exposure compared to the attention paid to negative behavior. I agree that we all need a break from our work, family, school, and reality. What I disagree with are the degrading images of girls and women behaving like savages. Since when did being belligerent become attractive and socially acceptable?

Women in the real world They are representing scenes from reality TV In real life situations, that’s scary. Some fans of these actors, and are not aware that the reality TV stars are in fact acting? Directors cut scenes and retake them when a clip doesn’t play in a marketable way. Have we become intoxicated by indecency and immorality? What can we learn from these women? The most important lesson might be how not to waste time acting like a fool. Or maybe, we could learn, what not to do in public? and how not to treat the people we love and respect. Not all reality shows are bad, but too many are.

At real world, where most of us reside, there are beautiful women who are earning college degrees, becoming entrepreneurs, and developing lasting relationships. These women get a small amount of media exposure, while their female counterparts dominate the airways.

Making light of unpredictable behavior, cat fighting, and misbehavior from women is not a good example for anyone. Nor is it the legacy that most women want to leave to our future female leaders. Our country has changed in many ways, so society has also changed. I am not opposed to change when it equates to growth.

Which brings me to a very important fact, anyone who is born a woman will become a woman, but whether or not she is a Lady is a decision she will make. I am not talking about choosing a gay or bisexual lifestyle. That topic is about a woman’s sexual preference. I don’t mean sexual orientation, I don’t mean that. I mean the actions of some women. Choosing to be humble, courteous, and kind is a choice. Women are the backbone of society. Whatever is inside a woman affects the way she nurtures others. Don’t just be strong for yourself, be strong for the next generation of women, because they need us.

A lady is someone self-sufficient. In your pursuit of equal rights, equal pay, and equal opportunity, don’t discount these qualities. Don’t replace being polite with being obnoxious, any fool can do that. I don’t think chivalry is dead, if women stop being ladies, who will chivalrous gentlemen have to attend to?

There is a sense of dignity that must be instilled in our daughters and women everywhere. Women must be taught to love themselves. Women must recognize that they add value to life and humanity by being themselves. I will never accept the title of being labeled a bitch, and I encourage other women not to accept it either. Come on women, let’s get back our title of being “world class ladies. ” Let’s stand firm and welcome the days when we were treated like ladies. I’m talking about “Lady ” not just brotherhood. If you are a woman and a lady, you are someone to celebrate. Could the real ladies get up and take their place?
