The turn of the 20th century marked the advent of street cars. A new mode of transportation had emerged that was destined to revolutionize the world. Slowly but surely, the roads filled with four-wheeled beasts of different colors and sizes. They started with big, bulky engines, but later moved to sleeker, more efficient models. Simply saying, “we’ve come a long way since those days” will be something of an understatement. Literally, it might be more appropriate to say, “We’ve come a long way.” In fact, we’ve driven billions of miles since those days. In fact, of all the verbs that humanity has used in the modern era, driving undoubtedly ranks first as the most used verb, followed by surfing the Internet in second place.

And what has so much of driving done in all these years and decades by humanity? Better cars, yes; Bigger and better roads, yes; but the most important aspect has been the excitement associated with continuous driving. It is a very basic feeling that almost one in two people on earth must have experienced. Your first car is like your first love. You would always remember the first time you rode in it. Nor will you be able to forget the first time your parents enrolled you in a driving school.

People always associate a driving school with an amateur or novice driver. Frankly speaking, this is not always true. People who have been offline for a long time can always go back to driving school to hone their skills and revive them. They may also join a school after a long time just so they can switch to a different category of vehicle that they haven’t tried before. For example, a regular driver may need some special considerations to learn about before thinking about driving a big pickup truck or tow truck or maybe one of those eighteen wheelers. If not, then surely people who don’t have regular access to a vehicle can go and brush up on their driving skills. For example, a woman who is a stay-at-home mom may well think of joining a driving school (since her husband takes the family car) for the day just to practice driving for herself. If Michael Schumacher can get back on the circuit and put in hours of practice, surely we can all join driving school again in life!
