If your skin has been through a rough patch and needs some care, and you’re looking for natural ways to help soothe, heal, and repair your skin, then you’ll enjoy what I’m about to share with you.
You may be concerned about UV damage from overexposure to the sun, which is most common on the face, neck, and décolleté.
Maybe it’s dehydration or congestion from environmental factors.
It may be that you’ve been suffering from sensitivity to ingredients in commercial skin care products, but you’re not really sure what’s causing it.
If you are looking for ways to repair and heal your skin, you can use a wide range of natural ingredients rich in essential fatty acids, fruit acids, and vitamins to heal and rejuvenate your skin.
Many natural ingredients such as oils, nuts, avocados, or other fruits can be combined to provide equal or better benefits than the active ingredients you’ll find in commercial products, but without the potential side effects.
The recipes below are specifically designed to address some specific common skin concerns. They can help repair damage and stimulate collagen production and new cell growth while moisturizing the skin.
You will notice the use of essential oils in these recipes. You can exclude them, but they can play such an important role in skin care recipes that I suggest you use them.
So here we go:
Homemade face mask recipe for sun damage
Start with a base oil that is rich in fatty acids, such as avocado oil, which also has regenerative qualities. Other oils, such as carrot seed, rosehip, and walnut oil, have anti-aging and firming properties, and are excellent for damaged or mature skin.
Make a mixture of these oils in a base of:
2 tablespoons coconut oil, calophyllum (tamanu) oil, or rosehip oil (better yet, use a mix of all three in equal parts).
Add 5 drops each of avocado oil and olive oil.
Add 10 drops of carrot seed oil and/or sea buckthorn oil. Both are rich in antioxidants (Vitamins A, C, and E) with powerful restorative benefits.
Mix these ingredients well and apply to the affected areas twice a day. This blend will absorb quickly and help protect the skin from further damage while healing what has already been done. Do this and you will see an improvement in a week and a dramatic improvement in several months.
